Money is a barrier between people and what they need to survive:

The Green Party proposes that contributors to all its projects aimed at restoring the environment, growing and producing  food that is safe to eat, educating  people, healing people , animals and plants will be recognised for their contribution with ‘ECOs’ which will  record the time they have contributed to helping bring about environmental conservation in the Western Cape . Every person’s time is worth the same value I hour = 1 ECO

Whether the Green Party gets a seat in provincial parliament or not, We are all going to do this anyway. All age groups, all disabilities and all nationalities can play their part.

The Green Party is the only party that looks squarely at the unemployment problem and does not just blandly promise more jobs despite the rapidly diminishing natural resources of the Earth on which all jobs are based.

The primary industries are fishing, agriculture, forestry, mining. On these, most of the economy is based and the secondary industries use the materials from the primary industry. They  manufacture, package, transport, market, distribute and sell goods made from these materials. Tertiary industries supply those working in the first two with building materials. Food, clothes, education, banking, legal services etc.

In South Africa, poor management of our fish stocks is leading fish to near extinction, poor agricultural practices have lost us in excess of 75% of our topsoil over the past 60 years and mining is facing a crisis of higher costs to recover more remote reserves of minerals and pending damages suits against their destruction of water and other resources poisoned and destroyed over the last 50 years.

We have more and more people chasing fewer and fewer jobs, and no one wants to help those who don’t get the jobs. Hence the crime statistics in South Africa.

The Green Party proposes to accept that millions of people are going to stay unemployed the way things are and indeed more unemployment will be created through closing down industries that are destroying the environment through legally binding climate change initiatives and policies.

The Green Party proposes that free organic food, free electricity which is genuinely possible from renewable resources, free education by the best teachers of a much higher standard than that currently available to the majority of the population will be made available by television and field trips. Entertainment will become educational as well. Sport and outdoor activities  and food containing  trace elements and minerals essential for the bodies natural health will keep people healthy.

It is deadly to life on earth to permit these industries to continue  just because they provide jobs temporarily although perpetually poisoning the environment and taking away human beings and animals future life viability on Earth.

Our current money system worldwide ( The fractional reserve money system) enables the creation of money with no value to back it.

  • The fractional reserve money system we use in South Africa as well is a scam initiated by overseas interests who control through this money system most government leaders of the world and through them most of the world’s natural resources.

It is a fatally flawed system in which inflation to ridiculous levels and poverty for most people is inevitable. It failed in the United States in 1835. It almost completely collapsed in 2008 and was artificially revived by the same method that makes it flawed in the first place – the creation of money where no added value exists to back it.

  • The eco is not strictly a currency but it has the opposite quality. Time spent on restoring and protecting the environment kicks the enormous abundance of Nature into action. Time spent on educating, healing and motivating people kicks the incredible potential of people and love into action. The added value backing the eco is limitless.

However, new fields of “employment” will be created, such as labour intensive organic farming, recycling, reforestation for carbon capture , which is also good because it offers the chance to be useful to society even in decentralised areas and therefore does away with the problem of urbanisation and urban slums.

Environmental Impact tax needs to be introduced immediately. This will make it prohibitively expensive to import, particularly from countries which utilise environmentally insane methods of production and dirty energy sources. Therefore local industry will flourish again. The Green Party steps up to restore the seas and will eventually create the result of a renewed primary “industry”.

Energy source will be renewable which will cut production costs extensively and make industry carbon neutral. Agriculture will be without chemicals, which will restore the soils and the health and slash the health budget. Wildlife habitats will be restored and our precious wild animals will flourish, so the tourism industry will boom again.

Due to the high level of methane coming from rubbish dumps, disposal will not be allowed. This will mean that another whole variety of industries will be initiated to deal with a no waste/anything produced must be a resource for another species economy.
